Reading First Statewide Reports

As a part of the evaluating Florida's Reading First Program, approximately 10 % of Reading First schools are visited annually. Each school receives an individual school report that provides feedback and recommendations based on the site visit team's collected data. Then, each year, data from these individual reports are summarized into a statewide report. These reports, while not designed as content for increasing knowledge and skills about reading, can inform districts and schools about the critical features of implementing the Reading First program.

District Level Use: A site visit report can be used as one component of a presentation to groups responsible for developing a district plan for conducting school visits for the purpose of monitoring implementation of reading programs. A site visit report can also be used to familiarize administrators and coaches with the data collected on state sponsored RF site visits.

School Level Use: A site visit report can be used as one component of a presentation to teachers to introduce the concept of a school site visit, to identify the key components addressed by a site visit, or to examine school practices in relation to elements reviewed in RF schools across Florida.
