First Grade Group 3




Our third group has four students. According to the DIBELS® data, these students’ reading skills appear to be on grade level. They have a basic understanding of the letter-sound relationship (NWF) and are reading some words in connected text (ORF). However, most of these students still lack fluency in phonemic awareness (PSF). They would most likely benefit from additional instruction to strengthen their phonemic awareness skills as the demands in reading become more challenging. Once you answer the highlighted guiding questions below, you will get a better idea of where to begin instruction for each student. The additional questions are provided for you to learn more about the needs of these students in the other instructional areas.
