Dr. Gans began her career as an early childhood special education teacher. Prior to joining FCRR, Dr. Gans held positions at both the school-based level as an Exceptional Student Education Specialist for Broward County Public Schools, and at the district level as a Program Specialist for Behavior with Leon County schools.

Dr. Gans also serves as adjunct teaching faculty at both Florida State University and Nova Southeastern University, teaching classes in Special Education.

Dr. Gans primary research interests include identifying factors that might explain teacher resistance versus teacher support for participation in education research.
