Note 3: The Responsible Instructor of Reading is a new field in the Student Demographic file.
Note 4: The responsible reading instructor is NOT always the homeroom teacher.
- at elementary schools, the responsible instructor of reading is the teacher who delivers the 90 minutes of initial (Core) reading instruction.
- at secondary schools, for students who scored a Level 1 or Level 2 on the reading portion of the previous year's FCAT, the responsible instructor of reading is the teacher of the intensive/supplemental reading class. This might be a content area course such as social studies or science. For FCAT L1 and 2 students, it is not the language arts teacher.
- for FCAT Level 3, 4, or 5 students, at secondary schools, the language arts teacher is the responsible instructor of reading.
