This is a large-scale study of reading intervention methods for children in grades 3 and 5. The goal of the study is to demonstrate that reasonably interventions can significantly close the reading gap for struggling readers in late elementary school. Funding for this project has been developed by the Haan Foundation, in cooperation with the U.S. Office of Education and several other private foundations. This is the largest study of its kind ever conducted. Power4Kids includes several large research projects that examine the effectiveness of different instructional approaches supporting the development of early literacy skills in pre-school.
