Curriculum and Instructional Projects
The Curriculum & Instructional Projects Team (C & I Team) of FCRR provides technical assistance to Reading First districts and schools and supports the initiatives of the Just Read, Florida! Office. The C & I Team is primarily responsible for reviewing reading curricula and professional development programs with the purpose of writing FCRR Reports. These informational reports are posted on our website to assist school personnel in making informed curriculum and instructional decisions regarding their reading and professional development programs. This team also participates in the evaluation of Reading First Professional Development, the K-5 Student Center Activities developed at FCRR, and the development of a wide variety of projects that require expertise in curriculum and instruction.

Marcia Kosanovich, Ph.D.
A reading educator with extensive experience in professional development and expertise in teaching struggling readers, Dr. Kosanovich is the director of the Curriculum Team and the Instructional Projects Team. She leads the Center’s review of curricula and the development of instructional materials. She is also the Deputy Director of the National Center on Instruction, Reading K-12.

Michelle Wahl, M.S.
A reading educator with expertise in teaching struggling readers and experience teaching reading methods classes to pre-service and in-service teachers. Ms. Wahl is involved in the review process of curriculum and instructional materials.

Mary Van Sciver, M.S.
An experienced teacher with expertise in special education and working with struggling readers and preschool children. Mrs. Van Sciver is involved in the review process of reading curriculum and instructional materials.

Georgia Jordan, M.S.
An elementary educator with extensive experience teaching pre-K through sixth grade students and reading intervention for struggling readers. Mrs. Jordan supervises the review process of curriculum and instructional materials.
Curriculum Specialist
Lila Rissman, M.S.
A reading educator and coach with experience teaching reading and language arts to students in sixth through 12th grade, teaching struggling middle school readers, and providing in-service and support to teachers of struggling readers. Mrs. Rissman is involved in the review process of reading curriculum and instructional materials.
Curriculum Specialist
Elissa Arndt, M.S., CCC-SLP
A speech-language pathologist and reading specialist with experience teaching Pre-K through eighth grade students with language-based disabilities, reading intervention for struggling readers, and teaching reading methods and intervention classes to pre-service and in-service teachers. Ms. Arndt is involved in the review process of curriculum and instructional materials.
Program Coordinator
Tatia Jordan, M.A.
Coordinates and supports multiple curriculum and instructional projects. Responsible for editing technical reports, assisting with literature reviews and site visit reports, reviewing research on reading found in journals and libraries, and assisting curriculum and project teams with ongoing assignments.
